Michael Gullans
Adjunct Assistant Professor, Quantum Information Systems
Joint Center for Quantum Information and Computer ScienceNSF Quantum Leap Challenge Institute for Robust Quantum Simulation
Michael Gullans is an adjunct assistant professor of physics with an adjunct appointment in the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies. He is also a physicist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Gullans’s research focuses on the theoretical study of quantum information systems and quantum simulators, particularly in nonperturbative and strongly-interacting regimes. His work includes investigating error correction, fault-tolerance, and scalable tomography of quantum devices, with the goal of developing quantum simulators into reliable tools for studying many-body quantum physics and complex systems.
