Research in autonomous robotics by Cornelia Fermüller, Yiannis Aloimonos and their graduate student Yezhou Yang was featured in an MIT Technology Review article that highlighted the group’s recent demonstration at a conference in St. Louis.
The researchers are developing sophisticated robotic systems that can observe human actions—pouring a drink or making a salad, for example—and then use computer vision, artificial intelligence and language processing algorithms to determine the most efficient way for the robot to perform the same tasks on its own.
