I earned my PhD at the Department of Linguistics at the University of Maryland in 2007. My research focuses on linguistically-motivated features in the automatic classification of text for perspective, point-of-view, or implicit sentiment. My work falls within the broader realms of sentiment analysis and opinion mining. My advisor and committee chairman was Philip Resnik.
