Note that the time and room are not the same as for the final when it is offered on December 21!
Final exam week and university closure: Once again we are assessing our options for making up final exams should the campus be forced to close at any time between Thursday, December 15th, and Wednesday, December 21st. It is extremely difficult to identify an exam make-up day(s) given our adherence to the common academic calendar approved by the Regents, the large number of exams we administer, and the press of commencement events and seasonal holiday travel. This semester the commencement convocation will be held on the evening of the last day of exams, December 21st, followed by a full day of college exercises on Thursday, December 22nd. With the exception of graduating seniors, students must vacate their residence halls on the 21st. By the close of the 22nd, dining services will cease many of its operations and students and faculty will have left on pre-planned holiday travel. Any closure occurring during the first three days of exams could be made up on Sunday, December 18th. If the campus were forced to close during the last three days of finals it is not likely that finals could be made up prior to commencement.
If an emergency occurs, an instructor has two options: 1. Call Work Control, x52222. Barbara Roberts, Physical Plant, has arranged that any problem involving classrooms and final exams has first priority. 2. Move class Saturday, December 17th through Wednesday, December 21st from (8am - 10pm) To the Cole Field House: Arena floor and seats will be open and lighted; microphone will be on; lapboards will be stacked in promenade areas. Thursday, December 15th from (8am-10am) To Chem 1407 or Biopsych 1243 (10am - 10pm) To Cole Field House Friday, December 16th from (8am - 1pm) To Tawes 2154, 1154, and 0147 or Armory 0116, 0117 and 0119 (1pm - 10pm) To Tydings: Rm. 0130 Or Armory 0131, 0126
