Jordan Boyd-Graber

I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland iSchool and University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies. I am affiliated with Cloud Computing Center, Computer Science, Computational Linguistics and Information Processing, and Language Science. Previously, I was a graduate student in the Machine Learning Group at Princeton working with David Blei. For more details, please see my CV.

I'm interested in applying statistical models (particularly latent variable approaches) to natural language applications in ways that interact with humans, learn from humans, or help us understand humans. My PhD thesis was on adding linguistic assumptions to topic models (one example of a latent variable model for text).
