Biography: 

Philip Resnik is an MPower Professor of Linguistics with an appointment at UMIACS and an affiliate appointment in computer science.

His approach to computational linguistics involves bringing together machine learning methods with human knowledge to answer scientific questions and develop applications with real-world impact. He is currently investigating the role of context in sentence understanding using techniques from computational psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics, and he is developing and applying NLP and AI methods for understanding and addressing mental health issues.
