       Welcome to BRIDGE

BRIDGE stands for Bilingual Resource Inference and Dictionary Generation Environment. Our goal is to provide an electronic learning tool for Less Commonly Taught Languages.

We use the techniques of OCR, Segmentation, Tagging and Generation and improve them by "bootstrapping" or feedback from the system operator in order to generate a resource as perfect as possible.

BRIDGE is accompanied by a Search and Retrieval tool that enables the user to browse the electronically generated dictionary in a very similar fashion as that of a paper bound dictionary.

Originally started with the aid of DARPA under the name TIDES, BRIDGE project is now operated under the collaboration of UMICAS-LAMP and CASL (Center for Advanced Studies of Languages).

Please go through the links provided on the left side. Those will give more information about specific sections of the project.
