Deathstar
Description:
Deathstar is an 8-way IBM Netfinity. It was purchased
at the same time as the blue nodes. It has 4G RAM
and a gigabit uplink to the rest of the world. It
is not managed through PBS - any user can log on at
any time and run processes.

Reservations:
There is no scheduler or reservation service on tau. Deathstar
is only visible within UMIACS/CFAR/CS. You will need to
ssh through redleader if you need offsite access.
Disk Use:
Deathstar has two scratch disks available for use. A 10GB
/scratch1 and 65GB /scratch2. Data is not backed up on these
drives, so copy any important results to your groups project
directory or your own home directory. |
